District judicial officers end strike

District judicial officers end strike LAHORE: Lahore’s district judicial officers ended their strike on Tuesday, DawnNews reported.

Chief Justice Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Khwaja Sharif directed the district judges to resume their duties in the courts.

Meanwhile, District and Sessions Judge Zawwar Ahmad Sheikh was sent on a four-month-long leave.

Suhail Nasir was to assume responsibilities as Lahore’s district and session judge in his absence.

Earlier on Monday, the Lahore Bar Association held a general house meeting and took out processions in protest against alleged police torture of lawyers and non-acceptance of its demand for transfer of Zawwar Ahmad Sheikh.
