ISLAMABAD: Mian Raza Rabbani, chairman of the 18th Amendment Implementation Commission, reiterated on Monday his resolve to ensure implementation, in letter and spirit, of the devolution plan which envisages transfer of subjects from the federal to provincial governments by June 30 next year.
He was talking to Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani who had called on him to discuss preparations by the provinces to take over the federal subjects. “The two leaders expressed their resolve to complete the process of devolution i.e. transfer of subjects which were on the Concurrent List from the federal government to the provincial governments by June 30, 2011,” a handout said.
They also discussed implementation of the Aghaz Huqooq-i-Balochistan Package, the flood situation and the role of federal agencies in Balochistan.
Senator Rabbani briefed the chief minister on the working of the implementation commission.
The chief minister was informed that the process of devolution would be completed by the date given in the Constitution.
