Pakistan, Gujranwala News : A Passenger train plunged into canal in Gujranwala due to which at least 16 people died on Thursday, E Pakistan News Reported.
Federal Railways Minister Saad Rafique said that possibility of sabotage or terrorism could not be ruled out.
Sources told that, engine and four coaches of the train fell into a canal after a dilapidated bridge collapsed near Gujranwala.
Initial reports said dozens of passengers, including some army personnel, fell into water. Of them, at least 85 were rescued while 16 lost their lives.
According to CPO Waqas Nazir, the train was carrying over 150 passengers from Pannu Aaqil to Kharian when it met the accident on Chanawan Bridge. He said the train was also carrying 21 freight bogies which did not plunge into canal.
