Pakistan, Karachi News : Timber market fire in Karachi turned the 16 godowns of wood, 150 shops and houses into ashes on Sunday while MQM criticized the government over this incident in Sindh.
Addressing a press conference, MQM leader Farooq Sattar questioned if the PPP government in the province would take responsibility and that if the chief minister Qaim Ali Shah would resign after the incident.
“Had 1 lakh and 60 thousand gallon water was available after the incident, the market would have suffered no more than 10 percent damage,” Sattar said. He demanded the chief minister to take responsibility of 90 percent damages to the property.
“Administration came to action only after Altaf Hussain issued statement,” the MQM leader said. On the occasion, another MQM leader Qamar Mansoor, demanded of the government to immediately hold local government elections in the province.
