PTI committee invalidates intra-party Sindh polls

Pakistan, Karachi News : A PTI probe committee headed by Justice (retd.) Wajih ud Din Ahmed today declared Sindh’s intra-party elections as null and void on charges of rigging and bribery.

The committee was constituted on the directive of PTI Chairman Imran Khan to look into complains of rigging in the intra-party elections held in early 2013.

Mehran Panel had emerged as victorious in the elections. Nadir Akmal Leghair was elected as President of the panel while Hafeez Sheikh was the General Secretary.

The committee said that provincial cabinet was elected by rigging and buying votes. It also annulled the victory of Mehran Panel.

Meanwhile, Imran Khan revoked the memberships of three party’s MNAs – Nasir Khattak, Gulzar Khan and Musarrat Zeb.

Khan said that the three members had violated the party’s decision on August 14, 2014.
