Pakistan News : Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Monday categorically rejected the assertion that the military and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) were backing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) in anyway in the current political standoff.
According to the statement issued by ISPR here, army is an apolitical institution and has expressed its unequivocal support for democracy at numerous occasions.
“It is very unfortunate that the military is dragged into such controversies,” ISPR lamented. It further said that integrity and unity of the army is its strength which it upholds with pride.
It is pertinent to mention here that PTI’s President Javed Hashmi, while talking to media earlier today, had said Imran Khan told him that he was compelled to rely on army. Agencies
