Pakistan, Karachi News : PM Nawaz Sharif approved the rapid transport system for the Karachi on Thursday, E Pakistan News reported.
In a high-level meeting here, the prime minister approved the project under which Green Line Bus Service will be launched in the city at the earliest.
He said that the federal government will contribute Rs15 billion for the project while rest of the cost will be shared by the Sindh government and the Karachi city government.
PM Sharif also directed authorities concerned to start work on the project immediately. He said if even Sindh didn’t contribute its share, the federal government will bear full cost of the project.
As per details gathered by Samaa, the bus service will run from Surjani Town to Tower for which a special elevated corridor will be built covering around 25.5 kilometers.
