SC orders to hold Presidential elections on 30th July

Presidential elections in Pakistan

Pakistan, Islamabad News : SC orders Election commission of Pakistan to set the Presidential Elections in Pakistan on July 30th on Wednesday.

A three-member Supreme Court bench, under Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chauhdry,  delivered its orders on a petition filed by PML-N seeking holding of presidential polls on July 30 instead of announced date of August 6 by the Election Commission.

The petitioner has argued in his petition that August 6 polls will be held in last ten days of Ramadan, when over 100 parliamentarians will not be available to cast votes for being busy in performing Umrah and Aitkaf, so presidential election should be held on July 30.

The ECP later agreed to fix July 30 as election date.
