SC orders to freeze banks accounts of DHA Islamabad, Rawalpindi

Pakistan, Islamabad News : SC orders to freeze the bank accounts of DHA Islamabad and Rawalpindi due to  failure in deposit Rs22 billion as per court’s orders.

During a hearing of the EOBI corruption case, a three-member bench of the court, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Choudhry, expressed its displeasure over DHA’s failure to deposit the amount.

DHA counsel Ahmar Bilal Sofi informed that the court of DHA’s inability to deposit the amount, saying that the authority has paid back banking loans while some amount is reserved to development works.

Court orders came after FIA DG Legal Azam Khan informed the bench that DHA had issued allotment letters for plots covering 321 kanal against which EOBI paid Rs 15 billlion. He said that these purchases were against the law and PEMRA rules were not followed.
