Pakistan, Islamabad News – As today night National Assembly is going to dissolved, Prime Minister of Pakistan Raja Ashraf delivers the farewell address to the nation in Saturday.
The Article states: “the National Assembly shall, unless sooner dissolved, continue for a term of five years from the day of its first meeting and shall stand dissolved at the expiration of its term.”
Law Minister told that “The National Assembly and the federal cabinet will be dissolved tonight,”
“If consensus is not reached on the caretaker prime minister, then the matter would go to the parliamentary committee,” he added. Naek said that a majority decision of the committee can decide who will be selected as the interim prime minister of the country.
In a recorded speech aired on state-run media and private TV channels, the Prime Minister thanked all the national institutions for their contribution towards helping the democratic government complete its Constitutional term.
This is the first time in Pakistan’s history that a democratically elected government is completing its five-year tenure, paving way for a caretaker administration to oversee general election.
