Karachi Protest against Lyari operation

Pakistan, Karachi News – After the operation in Karachi area Lyari people strongly protests against the Rangers on Thursday, E Pakistan News Reported.

Residents in Kharadar area took to roads this evening as unidentified people opened fires on police mobiles and Rangers personnel, burning tyres on roads.

Exchange of fire between criminals and police personnel took place on the Aga Khan road which turned the area into a battle field, triggering massive traffic jam from the ICC Bridge to Tower. Extra contingents of police and Rangers were called to tackle the situation which lasted for few hours.

People in Lea Market, Napier Road and adjoining areas protested the operation, with traffic mess in the areas.
The Rangers kicked off their action in Lyari, considered to be a hub of criminals, drug peddlers and gang war elements, day after two Rangers men were found shot dead.

The bullet-riddled bodies of Rangers men, identified as Muneer and Aijaz, were found near Mewa Shah Graveyard. They were kidnapped from Lyari.
