Pakistan, Islamabad News – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has included the party name of Muttahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) in the list of political parties eligible to apply for getting symbol in the forthcoming General Elections-2013.
The Commission’s press release said the decision has been taken after submission by MQM of all the consolidated statements of accounts of the party for the year 2008 to 2012.
It stated that MQM according to the provision of Article 13 of the Political Parties Order, 2002 has submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan, a consolidated statement of accounts of the party for the year 2010, which was awaited/pending according to the record available in the ECP.
Therefore, after submission of all the consolidated statements of accounts of the party for the year 2008 to 2012 (five years), the party name of Muttahidda Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM) has now been included in the list of political parties eligible to apply for getting symbol in the forthcoming General Elections-2013.
