Pakistan, Lahore News – Mutahidda Quami Movement’s Deputy Convener Dr Farooq Sattar Sunday said the MQM wanted the formation of South Punjab/Bahawalpur province to avoid anarchic situation in the country.
Briefing the media here at MQM regional office Muslim Town, he said the MQM wanted to pull the country out of crisis and it was the first parliamentary party that voiced for South Punjab province in the National Assembly.
Dr Farooq Sattar said no political party should oppose the South Punjab province, adding that all political parties should jointly work to ensure provision of the just right and demand of people of South Punjab.
The parliamentarians now have a golden opportunity to serve the masses better, he said. To a question, he said a consensus had already been existed regarding formation of more administrative units in the country.
The MQM leader said a consensus had been reached in the national commission on the establishment of new province and a draft bill on the subject would soon be presented in parliament.
To another query, he said he came to Lahore to exchange views with relevant quarters on the Long March (of Dr Tahirul Qadri) declaration. (APP)
