Pakistan News /PMA Strike in Quetta > Today is the 45th day of the strike by the doctors held in Quetta despite the recovery of Dr. Saeed, government and private hospitals still in bad conditions, E Pakistan News reported.
The patients coming from far-flung areas face severe problems owing to the sustained strike; however, some doctors who parted ways from Paramedical Association, are performing their duties in the emergency wards of hospitals.
The payment of ransom money for the release of Dr. Saeed, an ophthalmologist, is the justification by Pakistan Medical Association Balochistan (PMA) for their strike this time round.
The PMA Balochistan President Dr. Sultan Tareen said the doctors would continue strike until the government pays up the money given as ransom to the abductors, clarifying that the government played no role in getting the abducted doctor released.
He demanded that the killers of the doctors be arrested, cases registered against protesting doctors be quashed and those responsible for registration of cases be brought to book, adding that health secretary should be sacked.
