Five Political Parties Ineligible to get Electoral Symbols

According to ECP sources, under the Political Parties Ordinance 2002, all political parties are bound to submit details of their financial account statements and party polls to the commission.

Sources add that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Awami National Party (ANP) and Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) don’t meet the requirements to have electoral symbols. These parties will have to hold party elections before December 3, they added.

So far only PML-N, MQM and JI are entitled to get the electoral symbols.
