Pakistan News / Dual Nationality Case > The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday suspended the National Assembly membership of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) MNA Shahnaz Sheikh.
Her membership was suspended for holding Pakistani and Australian nationality simultaneously. Also, neither she appeared before the apex court nor submitted a reply regarding the case on court directives.
While resuming hearing of the dual nationality case, the apex court bench issued a show-cause notice to another MNA Rai Mujtaba Kharal, who is also parliamentary secretary for interior.
Meanwhile, the federation submitted its reply in the case and clarified Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik’s remarks.
It stated that Malik has never claimed to have possessed information about MNA’s holding dual nationality, adding that his remarks were misinterpreted.
