Pakistan News / NRO Case >Sources told that after consultation with its allies, the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party leadership has finally decided that Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf will appear before the Supreme Court in NRO implementation case hearing on Monday.
The SC has issued a contempt notice to the prime minister for not implementing its order of writing a letter to the Swiss authorities to reopen graft cases against President Zardari. Raja has been asked to appear in person before a five-judge bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa.
The PPP leadership and coalition partners have decided with consensus that PM Raja should appear before the apex court bench avoiding confrontation among state institutions, sources said.
The decision was taken at a meeting, jointly chaired by President Asif Ali Zardari Raja Pervez Ashraf, wherein the PPP leadership held consultation with leaders of its ally parties – MQM, PML-Q and ANP – about Raja’s appearance on Monday in the NRO implementation case.
