World News / London News > Highways authorities in London after discovering a crack in a ‘sensitive location’ were forced to immediately down the road, which stretches from central London towards Heathrow Airport, British media reported.
The Boston Manor Viaduct needs to be checked and possibly repaired, so experts have chosen to close the M4 and it may remain out of bounds to drivers for five days. The stretch of road in question is positioned off the ground and the crack is thought to have been found in the structure that supports it.
However, the Highways Agency moved to allay fears the problem may have a negative impact on transport in the capital during the upcoming Olympic Games, as it promised it will be resolved by then.
Vehicles are now being directed to adjacent carriageways such as the A312 and the A4, as people attempt to get in and out of central London.
