Pakistan News / Islamabad News Updates > The Memo Commission has cleared President Asif Ali Zardari of memo scandal, saying Mansoor Ijaz could not prove any connection between the president and the memo.
The report, filed in the Supreme Court by the commission, has disclosed that Mansoor Ijaz failed to satisfy the commission that President Zardari had advance knowledge of the memo.
It said that it would be mere speculation that President authorized Haqqani to write the memo. However, former Pakistan envoy in Washington Hussain Haqqani was able to convince Ijaz that President has approved the memo.
The report told that the commission did not find any evidence that President Zardari had directed Haqqani to author the memo.
According to the report, Ijaz has admitted that he has no evidence to back Haqqani’s claim.
