Government Decreased Oil Prices Before Budget 2012

Pakistan News / Budget 2012 > The government on Thursday announced to slash prices of petroleum products by Rs10.74 per liter ahead of the federal budget going to be unveiled tomorrow (Friday), E Pakistan News reported.

Budget 2012-13 will be announced on 1st June and further the prices of other things will be made after the budget call.

It is also possibility of relief for the peoples in Budget 2012-13.

The new prices will be effective from June 1st.

Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has issued a notification in this regard following approval of a summary by the Finance Ministry.

According to the notification, the petrol price has been reduced by Rs3.39 per liter; that of high speed diesel by Rs1.23, light diesel by Rs5.84, kerosene oil by Rs 5.90 per liter.

CNG gas rates are also likely to be cut by Rs3 per kilogram.

The government will earn Rs3 billion on petrol in 15 days by levying a tax called Petroleum Development Levy (PDL).
