SC Seeks Proposals to Protect Rights

Latest Pakistan News / Islamabad News – The Supreme Court has sought proposals to protect the basic rights of government employees.

A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the suo motu notice case.

The Election Commission submitted its reports regarding action taken against PPP’s Wahida Shah for slapping a woman presiding officer.

DIG Mirpur Khas Ghulam Haider Meerani told the court that a trial has begun against Wahida Shah in a civil court.

The court also took notice of torture on a school teacher in Sargodha. The court ordered IG Punjab to submit its report in two weeks.

Taking up a petition by Aneeta Turab, the apex court sought replies from Establishment Secretary, chief secretaries and Chief Commissioner of Islamabad.
