Centuries old temple to reopen for worship in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government has decided to reopen the centuries old temple in Hashtnagari area of Peshawar city for worship by the Sikh community.

The announcement in this regards was made in a meeting held here with Chairman Evacuee Property Trust, Syed Asif Hashmi.

Hashmi said the temple Bahi Beba Sanga will be reopened for worship after necessary repair by the Auqaf Department.

It is worth mentioning here that this temple was closed before partition. Last time this temple was repaired in 1833.

After partition this temple was handed over to Department of Auqaf.A vocational training school is presently functioning in the temple.
