Current Fiscal Year Tax Policy being Changed – Sheikh

Latest Business News / Pakistan – Pakistani Finance Minister said that the tax policy is being changed from the current fiscal year, E Pakistan News reported on Thursday.


During the last seven months Federal Board of Revenue collected the RS. 972 billion as tax, Abdul Haffez Sheikh told this in National Assembly and this is the 26 % more tax has been collected as compated to previous year.


He also said that The tax collection has been increased due to bold decisions, prudent measures and introduction of reforms in the tax collected system.FBR has collected Rs 1558 billion during the last financial year as tax which was 17 percent more as compared to the corresponding period of the year 2009-10.

It has been decided that the filing of income tax returns would be made mandatory for all National Tax Number (NTN) holders from the new financial year.


He said Government has decided to collect income tax from the potential income tax payers. He also mentioned that till now 700,000 income tax payers are present in the country who have yet to pay income tax.


Notices for income tax were sent to many Payers.
