Hussain Haqqani resigned to his post

Islamabad: Pakistani envoy to US Hussain Haqqani submitted his resignation over Secret Memo controversy, today he meets with civil and military leadership of country, E Pakistan News reported.

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has accepted Hussain Haqqani’s resignation after the Pakistani envoy answered all questions raised by top military impudence at a crucial meeting held in the Presidency first and later moved to the Prime Minister House.

According to source, Hussain Haqqani said he has served for three years, and now requested the leadership to accept my resignation after this issue.

I’m ready to face any enquiry at any forum, the under-pressure envoy.

He added that he playing role against intolerance and biasness in Pakistan politics.

Haqqani also offered his laptop and mobile phone for more investigations. He reportedly highlighted Mansoor Aijaz’s doubtful activities in the United State during Benazir government in 1995 and presented media report on it.

President’s spokesman Farhatullah Babar, however, denied any parley, saying “no such meeting was taking place in President Office at this time.

The government is also unlikely to issue any detail to media in this regard.
