World Cup Semi-Final 1996 was fixed

Mumbai: Former Indian batsman Vinod Kambli has claimed that the World Cup Semi-Final 1996 India vs Sri Lanka was fixed, source reported.


Vinod Kambli who was an important part of World Cup 1996 he claimed in Indian local news channel.


He added that he was surprised at the Indian assessment to field first in the semi-final because the pitch was in supported for batting.

The Indian side which lost the semi-final to Sri Lanka was captained by Mohammed Azharuddin who was forced to retire later in his career because of his attachment in a match-fixing scandal.
