Iran great friend of Pakistan: Dr. Firdous

Pakistan News/Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan on Thursday said that Iran was a great friend and Pakistan highly valued its relations with the brotherly Muslim country.


Dr Firdous was talking to an Iranian parliamentary delegation which called on her here. Outgoing Iranian ambassador Mashallah Shakeri also attended the meeting. They discussed the matters of mutual interest, especially cooperation in media sector.


The Information Minister said exchange of parliamentary delegations between the two countries would further enhance bilateral ties.


She stressed on the need of exploring various possibilities of cooperation in the field of media and said that exchange of media delegations would help both the countries to learn from each other’s best practices.

She said that sharing of dramas, videos and movies would help the two sides in understanding each other’s culture in a better way.
Dr Firdous lauded outgoing Iranian ambassador Mashallah Shakeri for his role in furthering people-to-people contacts, cultural and diplomatic relations.
Ambassador Shakeri thanked Government of Pakistan for its cooperation and hoped that relations of both brotherly countries would further grow in times to come.
