Libya: Obama defends war, insists US role is limited

Breaking News Update:Libya: Obama defends war, insists US role is limited > U.S. President Barack Obama has defended the war he began his presidency, calling for U.S. military involvement of Libya is limited.

Addressing Americans, he said the U.S. intervention had saved “countless lives” threatened by the forces of “tyrant” Muammar Gaddafi.

But after leading the first campaign, the U.S. side during NATO allies Wednesday, he said.

Meanwhile, the rebel advance in Libya was reduced near Sirte.

Although applications of NATO it is impartial in the conflict, Russia has renewed its expression of concern; said intervention in an internal civil war is not sanctioned by resolution of the Security Council the UN 1973rd.
