Pakistan number one Imran Shehzad is set to face defending champion Muhammad Sajjad in the first semi-final of the National Snooker Championship on Wednesday.
Sajjad holds a slight edge over Shehzad, after he won their semi-final tie in the 2008 edition of the tournament
This will be the second meeting between two top cueists of the country. Sajjad won the first meeting between two players in semifinals of the nationals in 2008.
“My rhythm has been very good during the championship and I have dropped just four frames so far,” a confident Sajjad told APP ahead of the best-of-11 semi-final.
Meanwhile, Shehzad will look to upstage the two-time champion for his maiden national crown at Karachi Gymkhana’s Billiards Hall.
Winner of the Rs.150,00 worth championship will represent Pakistan at the Asian Snooker Championship in April.
