Latest News Bhutan: India’s Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao and his Pakistani counterpart Salman Bashir were to hold talks in the framework of the South Asia Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) held in Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. Diplomats from India and Pakistan will meet Sunday in Bhutan first high-level meeting of the two rival countries in July.
Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that the meeting of its Indian counterpart SM Krishna in Islamabad in July.
“The dialogue between India and Pakistan, it is necessary and, if we are to satisfactorily resolve the outstanding issues between our two countries,” said Rao, Press Trust of India (PTI) news agency reported.
“We have a number of unresolved issues. So we’re in this open-minded and constructive.” PTI quoted Bashir said the talks on Sunday, will focus on progress made during the second meeting, the foreign ministers.
“My expectation is that we should try to continue,” he said.
