KARACHI: The committee formed at the directive of Chief Minister Sindh, Qaim Ali Shah for the reinstatement of dismissed Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) employees, has asked the KESC management to restore redundant.
An official statement said the committee met with management of the KESC to the Chief Minister House on Saturday.
Sindh Minister Shazia Marri Ms Power chaired the meeting attended by provincial ministers Rafiq Engineer, Dr Saghir Ahmed and Amir Nawab, Councillor CM Rashid Rabbani, Waqar Mehdi Special Assistant, Khawaja Izhar ul Hassan, Abdul Haseeb Senator and Khalid Iftikhar.
The meeting was attended by CEO Kesch Tabish Gohar, Mazhar ul Haq, Tayyab Tareen, Ghufran Atta Khan, Asif Manzoor, Nayyar Hassan, Zulfiqar Ali, Naveed Qureshi and Dr. Osama.
The Committee deplores the firing of 4,500 employees by management KESC and demanded his reinstatement.
Committee has informed the management of the KESC to anything, including stakeholders and the union of the CBA have been taken into confidence while sacking employees.
Shazia Marri said that no segment of the country has accepted the decision to dismiss the KESC staff and that all political parties and others lamented the action KESC.
He said the manifesto is’ (PPP) speaks of the Pakistan Peoples Party on the creation of jobs and therefore does not accept the government’s decision to cut employees.
He said it is a unanimous opinion of all political parties to lay off workers returned to Kesch.
The Committee members appealed to the working class to remain in peace.
KESC management has presented arguments in support of the decision to lay off workers in which it was decided that the meeting was again held on 23 January at the CM House.
