She said under the plan, crisis centers will be converted into development centres where women will be imparted vocational training to make them self relient.
She said each center has been provided additional 4,750000 for up gradation. The women caucus at provincial level will also be established, Firdous added.
The ministry will also chalk programme to address the problems being faced women in jails.A focal person of National Commission on Status of Women (NCSW) must be appointed at provincial level to coordinate and address women problems.
Firdous said PPP is taking forward the vision of Benazir Bhutto for the empowerment of women. “PPP expressed an unflinching commitment to the cause of gender equality since its inception in 1967,” she said.
Islam has guaranteed special place for women in society , ensuring their right to education, business and employment.
The Ministry is working with all the stakeholders to come up with new women policy very soon which will reflect the vision of Benazir Bhutto, Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and President Asif Ali Zardari.
She noted with concern that Punjab has not sent representative in the conference adding the Punjab has also not established separate women development Ministry.
The participant agreed for women welfare ministry in Azad Jammu Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Provincial ministers from Department of Women Ministry in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, Sindh and Balochistan also attended the conference.
The participants of the workshop agreed to form a joint committee of women caucus of the federal level and provincial women committee.
The participants also agreed to come up with a plan action for operationalizing all the legislation for women empowerment to improve the implementation of women legislation bill.
At the end, the women legislators finalized a resolution to establish women crisis centre and police stations at district level.
The child protection authority should be established at provincial level.However, citizens’ act and inheritance laws must be reviewed, they added.
The parliamentary secretaries on women, labour and manpower and textile were also present on the occasion.
