ISLAMABAD, Dec 24 (APP): Iranian Media Advisor Ali Akbar Javanfekr on Friday said his country was looking towards further promoting bilateral relations with Pakistan’s print and electronic media, especially with the Associated Press of Pakistan(APP).He was talking to Managing Director APP Muhammad Riaz during his visit to the premier news agency’s Headquarters here on Friday.The advisor, accompanied by Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Mashallah Shakeri was leading a three-member delegation.The Managing Director briefed the visiting delegation about the working of APP and services of video, photo and news, being provided to its local, national and international subscribers in different languages.
He informed the visiting delegation that APP would soon open its bureau office in Tehran to further strengthen the bilateral cooperation with the brotherly country.
Muhammad Riaz appreciated the role of Iran’s national news agency IRNA in promoting the common interest of the two neighboring and Islamic countries through news wires.
The two sides agreed to further cementing the bilateral cooperation in the print and electronic media to project the common cause.
Besides, it was agreed to exchange media delegations for sharing expertise of each other in different sections of media, especially in documentary making.
The Iranian Advisor lauded the role of APP in promoting the common objectives through news exchange programme which was started in early 1994. The two sides decided to renew the existing agreement between APP and IRNA extending their print and video services for mutual benefit.
