LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif on Saturday said he and his party would not support the government on the issue of the Reformed General Sales Tax (RGST). The PML-N would not allow the government to increase the burden on the masses, he said.
Addressing a public gathering in Sheikhupura, Nawaz said the Pakistan People’s Party-led government should focus on eliminating corruption instead of increasing taxes.
He further said that the PML-N sided with the government on the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award and the 18th Amendment, but it will not support the government on RGST.
He said a revolution was needed to combat the troubles faced by the people and to fight unemployment, poverty and injustice.
