WikiLeaks reports rejected by Asfandyar

Asfandyar wali khan aISLAMABAD: Awami National Party (ANP) chief Asfandyar Wali rejected the WikiLeaks reports which said that Army Chief General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani had offered him to become the president of the country.

While taking to a delegation of journalists here on Saturday, he said that the reports about other politicians were also baseless.He said that President Zardari had offered him presidentship before his election as President but he refused the offer.The presidentship was a right of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) because it had been given the mandate, he added.

The ANP leader said that 90 per cent of the WikiLeaks reports were related to Pakistan.He said that the country was facing terrorism and the recent unprecedented floods had also damaged its economy.Asfandyar said that due to lack of funds the reconstruction and rehabilitation of flood victims was a difficult task.The ANP chief said that his party would support the Reformed General Sales Tax (RGST) because it was drafted by economic experts.
