Plea against discretionary powers dismissed by LHC

Lahore high courtLAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday declared a writ petition against discretionary powers of the President, the Prime Minister, governors and chief ministers as non-maintainable and dismissed the plea.

The petition filed by Ilmuddin Ghazi Advocate contended that the rulers were using discretionary powers for political motives, denying eligible people their rights.

Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed of the LHC declared the plea as non-maintainable and dismissed it saying helping or rewarding someone was not a wrongful act.
